NYC Lockdown Restrictions Lifted

Health experts worldwide are shocked by the announcement made by Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York. It was confirmed that lockdown restrictions in New York State & New York City are being lifted. This follows after state civilians have remained indoors for two months, unable to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Going forward, civilians in New York will be permitted to compete in outdoor activities, such as swimming or basketball. Health experts believe this decision is hastily being made and could enforce a 2nd wave that’s deadlier than the first.

Andrew Cuomo doesn’t believe a 2nd wave is possible, with the Conservative Governor noting that their daily death toll has limited itself to eighty-four. That’s the lowest figure seen since the pandemic broke out in New York state, with their highest death toll being 799 on April 8th. The governor had previously remarked in a public format that once the daily death total reached fewer than one hundred, restrictions would begin to be lifted. It should be noted that these medical experts are correct about their predictions on a 2nd wave.

Increased Deaths

All nations opening their economies early have begun seeing increased numbers of confirmed infections. Under the P-Rating System used by Medical experts, New York State could see more than 1200+ deaths per day during the 2nd wave. That’s why these individuals are recommending that those listening continue their social distancing measures. The COVID-19 pandemic won’t ultimately be over until a vaccine is manufactured & distributed worldwide.

New York State is still seeing an influx of patients in their healthcare system. An average of 4600 Civilians is recovering from COVID-19, with those numbers slowly decreasing but expected to rise by Mid-June. It’s recommended that civilians concerned about their safety don’t attend any beaches or walkways being opened. This includes the Manhattan Bridge, Hudson River Walkway, and Long Island Beaches. Multiple other locations are included in these recommendations.

Forced Decision

Governor Andrew Cuomo was forced into this decision after initially announcing that Religious Services won’t be permitted moving forward. The New York Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit stating this goes against the constitution. Avoiding any issues, Andrew Cuomo authorised the state-wide lifting of lockdown restrictions.
